How to Dress Up a Dresser

The Before
Let's face it...I'm a woman and I like a little bling from time to time. I have a couple of friends who sell Premier Designs Jewelry and they keep me well stocked with so many little pretties to keep me pretty.

But, the problem came when my dresser just seemed to get over run by jewelry boxes and the jewelry box I had was filled to the gills. I thought maybe a jewelry armoire would be the answer, but they are awfully expensive and take up so much room.

However, one day while browsing a local HomeGoods store, I found a a frame that had wire crisscrossed through it with tiny clothes pins to hold photos or notes in place. I thought that would make for a wonderful solution. But what about earrings, bracelets, and watches? It seemed fine for necklaces, but what about the others?

The After
Well, another day and a renewed purpose for finding a solution, I decided to check out a 90% off clearance sale at a local Hobby Lobby. What did I find? A shadow box with hooks already installed in it. Cute, large enough for my purpose, the right color for my bedroom's color scheme, and at the right price...less than $20. I also found a cute breakfast tray with a vintage look and feel to it to place loose items like a couple of watches, bracelets and rings.

The outcome was exactly what I had been hoping for. I had a place to hand all of my necklaces, earrings and bracelets, while having a pretty place to keep watches, rings, and loose items.

The organization of it is simple, pretty and came to just under $30 for both pieces.

Now, to find someone to hang the shadow box on the wall for me. LOL!

I would love to hear about your finds and how you have dressed up your dresser for organization and simplification.
